Drawing Viking Bay, I wanted to catch the easy rhythm of a Broadstairs beach day: the harbour wall, the jetty, the seafront houses and figures dotted across the sand. Pen and ink makes you commit, because every line stays where you put it. I left much of the page untouched and let the white paper stand in for light and open space.
